McFly to give away album free

McFly will give away their next studio album, 'Radio:ACTIVE', free with the Mail on Sunday newspaper on July 20.

The band, who follow in the footsteps of the likes of Ray Davies and Prince, who have also given away new albums with newspapers, hope to shift around three million copies of the album.

The newspaper has an official circulation of 2,237,509, but the band are hoping that the free album will boost sales.

Singer Tom Fletcher told BBC News: "We get to put it into almost three million homes, which is an incredible opportunity for us. Hopefully the three million people will all enjoy the music and they'll decide to see us when we go on tour."

The band will release the album conventionally in September on their own record label, Super Records.

Russell Crowe - Crowes Hot Temper Mocked In Bands New Song

An angry encounter with hot-tempered Hollywood star RUSSELL CROWE has inspired an Irish rock band's latest single.

Gaelic Storm frontman Patrick Murphy claims The Night I Punched Russell Crowe is about a fight he had with the actor during his previous career as a bartender.

Murphy claims he hit Crowe when the actor refused to put out his cigarette.

The song lyrics include, "He squared right up to me, somewhat in surprise. Then he narrowed up his gaze, shot me daggers with his eyes. 'If you think you're man enough, go ahead,' he said. I was scared for me life, so I dawked (punched) him in the head.

"He lifted up his hands, put them to his nose. Blood was running through his fingers, dripping on his clothes. His bodyguards ran up. 'Get him,' shouted Crowe... 'You can't hit me, I'm the Cinderella Man, I'm the Master and Commander, I'm Australian... Don't you know I'm dangerous? I'm the outlaw Ben Wade. I am Maximus!' "

A spokesperson for Crowe denies the incident ever occurred, saying, "I don't know if (Crowe) knows anything about it. Who cares?"

The Keys to motherhood?

Alicia Keys wants to adopt. According to femalefirst.co.uk, the singer admires Angelina Jolie for adopting son Maddox from Cambodia, Zahara from Ethiopia and Pax from Vietnam and is considering following in her footsteps.

Keys, 27, said: I think adoption is important to consider. That is what I really admire about Angelina Jolie. I think its beautiful the way she embraces the children of the world.

We are all one. Were not as separate as we sometimes think. So I possibly would adopt, when Im more in the motherhood stage of my life.

Alicia also says she has always loved spending time with children and believes it is important to encourage their ideas and creative sides.

She added: Ive always loved kids. Kids are so important. Its important to nurture and spend time with them and listen to them.
